Alberta’s utilities minister says a public feedback report that suggests support for nuclear energy is still not a “slam dunk” for the industry in the province.

Nathan Neudorf spoke to reporters in Edmonton about the report from Alberta’s Nuclear Energy Engagement panel.

Nearly six-thousand people spoke about their hopes and concerns for the future of nuclear energy in the province in surveys.

The report’s authors say respondents are concerned about how the province would manage radioactive waste but are keen on the long-term energy prospects that come with nuclear.
