Update: As of 1:29 p.m. on April 9, the RCMP report that Highway 2 has been reopened for travel.

Update: As of 11:48 a.m. on April 9, Maskwacis RCMP report that Highway 2 northbound, just north of the Maskwacis exit, will be closed again as crews remove the semi and trailers.

As a result, they’re rerouting traffic to Highway 2A via Highway 611 until further notice.

Another update is expected once the highway reopens.

Maskwacis RCMP are currently on the scene of an overturned semi on Highway 2 northbound, just north of the Maskwacis exit.

Police say one northbound lane was reopened late last night, and speeds were reduced in the area as crews worked through the night.

The Highway is expected to reopen late this morning, but the public is asked to slow down before arriving in the area and to obey signage.

An update is anticipated once the highway is fully reopened.
