Lillian Rose Prior passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2026, in Red Deer, Alberta, at the age of 78 years. Lillian was born on Sunday, September 21, 1947, to Ruth and David Smith in Newmarket, Ontario. She dedicated her career to caring for others as a nurse, a profession that reflected her deeply compassionate nature and commitment to helping those in need. Above all, Lillian was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister, whose kindness, warmth, and steady support touched the lives of everyone around her. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren, who brought immense happiness to her life. She also deeply loved her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, always taking pride in their lives and accomplishments. She also had a special place in her heart for her sweet puppy, Oscar, who was a constant companion and source of comfort and joy. Lillian is lovingly remembered by her husband, Harvey Keith Prior; her children, Kimberley Gibson (Skylar Gibson) and Jeffrey Prior (Darren Campbell); and her cherished grandchildren, Carson Easy, Brooke Easy, Carter Gibson, and Lauklan Gibson. She is also survived by her siblings, Keith Smith (Colleen Smith) and Doris Phillips (Dennis Phillips). Lillian was predeceased by her parents, Ruth and David Smith. A Celebration of Life in Lillian’s honour will be held at a later date. In memory of Lillian, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society. Lillian will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her compassion, devotion to family, and the quiet strength with which she cared for those around her.
