1950 ~ Jamie Clarahan ~ 2026 "He loved family time over everything and he had passions aplenty."
Posted Mar 24, 2026 | 7:45 PM
Jamie passed away at home on Thursday, March 12 after a brief illness. He was born in Olds, Alberta to Hilda and Harold Clarahan and enjoyed a childhood in the countryside of Poplar Creek, East of Olds. Jamie was a hard working son of a busy farmer and worked side by side with his Dad and helped his Mom out with her sheep herd. They also loved raising horses, with Jamie learning to ride as a young boy at four years old. He was a fearless and fun boy who always got his chores done first, often with the help of life long friends. He was blessed with a loving family and loyal friends who could work a long day and still have enough juice to carouse throughout the night. Jamie and his friends played as hard as they worked.
At 16, he added road building to his resume, as he loved machines of all description and joined a road crew for the County of Mountain View while still helping out at the family farm. He spent his professional years landscaping parks, planting trees everywhere and building his golf course, Heather Glen, adding more life long friendships along the way. For the last 20 plus years he enjoyed working as a water contractor in Morley, Alberta helping the Wesley Nation develop their water & sewer services. He was still working up to his passing as he loved what he did.
He spent the last 33 years of his life living NW of Cochrane developing an acreage with a home for his wife, Sharon Anne and a shop, stocked trout pond and yes, lots of trees. He was proud of his daughter Stacey and her many accomplishments and her family of four kids–Bronwynn, Marley, Ethan & Gavin. He loved family time over everything and he had passions aplenty.
Jamie is remembered by his loving wife of 33 years Sharon Anne Green; his daughter Stacey and her four children; brother Stan (Geraldine); sister Gwen Schultz; nephews Pat Thorson (Erin), Mike Thorson (Diane), Joey Clarahan; niece Susan Clarahan; as well as members of the Green family and numerous cousins and their children.
He was predeceased by his parents Harold & Hilda Clarahan, sons Dana MacAdam and Brennan Clarahan, grandson Aeddan, sister Mary, and niece Kelly.
In keeping with Jamie’s wishes, there will be no services held.
In lieu of flowers or a donation, please plant a tree in memory of someone you love.
