Ronald “Ron” Coyne, 81, of Olds, Alberta, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on January 15, 1945, in Calgary, Ron was the son of Charles and Alice Coyne. He was the devoted partner and husband of Penny Coyne, with whom he shared 51 wonderful years. Their life together was built on dedication, partnership, and love for their family.

Ron will be fondly remembered for his quick humor, remarkable strength, and signature stubbornness that those close to him knew well. He spent much of his career as a safety supervisor with Canadian Fracmaster and later took great pride in founding Capricorn Safety alongside Penny. Outside of work, Ron had a passion for hot rodding and traveling, enjoying memorable trips to Puerto Vallarta, Cuba, and Ireland.

Ron is survived by his wife Penny; his daughter Karlene (and “Sonnie Boy” Shane); and his cherished grandchildren Riley, Lauryn, and Madison. He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unforgettable stories.

A Celebration of Life was held at the Olds Pomeroy Inn & Suites, 4601 – 46 Avenue, Olds, Alberta on Sunday, March 22 at 2:00 p.m. All who knew and loved Ron were welcomed to attend.
