It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Shane Ballantyne of Red Deer, Alberta, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the age of 54 years. Shane was born on Tuesday, August 10, 1971, in Calgary, Alberta, to Don and Thekla Ballantyne. Shane was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, whose kindness, wisdom, and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. Shane will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Donald and Thekla (nee Scheller) Ballantyne; his two brothers, Donne (Carol) and Stacey (Judy); his sister, Tamara; his three sons, Colby, Dakota, and Trystan; his daughter, Arianna; his three nieces, Andrea, Jayde, and Savannah; and his four grandchildren.
