LESCHERT, Kenneth
1961 ~ 2026
Kenneth Neil Leschert of Eckville, Alberta, passed away at Red Deer Regional Hospital on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the age of 65 years. Ken was born and raised in Wetaskiwin and spent his life living throughout Central Alberta. He built a very successful 40-year career in the oil industry, a career he was extremely proud of. Through dedication and hard work, he provided steadfastly for his family, always serving as a protector and an unshakeable anchor to those who depended on him. Ken married his high school sweetheart, Lisa Anne Leschert (née Drader), and together they shared 44 wonderful years of marriage. Their life was built on faith, love, and family — the true cornerstones of his life. Above all, Ken was a devoted and loving father, and nothing brought him greater joy than being “Papa” and “Great Papa.” In retirement, he spent the past 10 years cherishing time with his grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews whom he adored; during those years, his heart was fullest. He was welcoming to all, a friend to everyone he met, and a man who consistently put others before himself. Ken will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Lisa Anne Leschert; his son Kris Leschert and his wife Danica Leschert of Lethbridge, and their children Brynn, Brielle, and Bexley; his son Jayme Leschert of Lethbridge, and his children Jordan, Jenaya, and River; and his daughter Nikole Munro and her husband Kyle of Sylvan Lake, and their children Austin, Shea, and Jaxson. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Jensen. Ken is also survived by his brothers, Rick Leschert (Charlene) of Wetaskiwin and Don Leschert (Val) of Wetaskiwin; his sister, Jackie of Millet; as well as extended family members Jennifer and Tamara. He was predeceased by his parents, Lowell and Anne Leschert, and his brother-in-law, Jim. A Celebration of Life was held at Parkland Funeral Home on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., with Kris Leschert officiating. Cremation has taken place. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made in Ken’s memory directly to Kids Cancer Care of Alberta at https://www.kidscancercare.ab.ca/ . Ken will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his strength, generosity, unwavering faith, and the immense love he had for his family.
