This week in RDP Athletics: March 13-15

This week, the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Volleyball team will compete at the 2026 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men’s Volleyball National Championship. The RDP Queens Hockey team will continue its best-of-five ACAC Championship. The Kings Hockey team will begin its best-of-five ACAC Championship. The Red Deer Polytechnic Queens Rodeo team will participate in the Little Royal Rodeo.

Here is a summary of the upcoming competition:

Volleyball

Kings at NAIT | CCAA National Championship | March 11-14

The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Volleyball program will vie for its 15th national title. The schedule and results can be viewed at: ccaa.ca/sports/mvball/championship.

Hockey

Queens at Rustlers | Friday, March 13 | 7:15 p.m.

The RDP Queens Hockey team will challenge the Lakeland College Rustlers on the road in game three of the best-of-five ACAC Championship.

The Queens lead the series two games to none. RDP goaltender Tora Ward has stopped 66-of-68 shots in the series (0.971).

Queens vs. Rustlers | Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre | Saturday, March 14 | 7 p.m.

If necessary, the Queens will host the Rustlers in game four of the final.

Queens at Rustlers | Sunday, March 15 | 7 p.m.

The Red Deer Polytechnic Queens and Lakeland College Rustlers will clash in Lloydminster for game five, if needed.

Kings vs. Trojans | Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre | Friday, March 13 | 7 p.m.

The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Hockey team will play the SAIT Trojans in game one of the best-of-five ACAC Championship.

In the semi-finals, the Kings defeated the Portage College Voyageurs, and the Trojans downed the NAIT Ooks.

Kings at Trojans | Saturday, March 14 | 7:15 p.m.

The series will shift to Calgary for game two.

Rodeo Queens | Little Royal Rodeo | March 14-15

The Red Deer Polytechnic Queens Rodeo team will compete in the Little Royal Rodeo hosted by Lakeland College.
