Robert (Bob) McLachlan, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and respected member of the community, was born on July 30, 1939, in Lamont, Alberta, and passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026, in Olds, Alberta, with his family at his side. Robert will be remembered for his kindness, integrity, and steadfast devotion to his family. His quiet strength, generosity of spirit, and warm sense of humour left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, and community.

Robert was predeceased by his daughter, Renee Casler (McLachlan); his parents, Edna and William McLachlan; and his sister, Eleanor McLachlan.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Heidi McLachlan; his children, Wendy and Chilton Suton (Preston, Teigen, and Avery); Tynsel and Dion Dunkley, (Merlissa and Alex) ; Robert McLachlan ; Marc Casler, (Frank and Jacob) ; George and Carolyn Ferraby (Makenna and Brooke) ; and Greg and Krista Ferraby (Jarred). He is also survived by his brother, Gordon McLachlan, and sister in law, Mae McLachlan. Robert’s family will continue to cherish his memory and the many years of love he shared with them.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
