Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) Athletics is very proud to announce Julianna Chipiuk (Queens Indoor Track) and Kohen Meckelborg (Kings Indoor Track) as the Boston Pizza RDP Athletes of the Week:

Julianna Chipiuk – Queens Indoor Track

Program – Bachelor of Science in Nursing (2nd)

Hometown – Edmonton, Alberta

Julianna Chipiuk was a key member of the first-place Red Deer Polytechnic Queens Indoor Track team (63 team points) at Running Room Grand Prix #2.

Chipiuk (11:12.88), a Bachelor of Science in Nursing student from Edmonton, took top spot in the women’s 3,000 m at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre.

She (5:14.79) also placed second in the 1,500 m and was a member of the second-place RDP Queens 4 x 400 m relay team (4:21.12).

Chipiuk and the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens Indoor Track team will compete at Running Room Grand Prix #3 on February 28 in Lethbridge.

Kohen Meckelborg – Kings Indoor Track

Program – Bachelor of Business Administration (4th)

Hometown – Calgary, Alberta

Kohen Meckelborg played an integral role in helping the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Indoor Track team (59 team points) finish first at Running Room Grand Prix #2.

Calgary’s Meckelborg (2:42.24) finished third in the men’s 1,000 m. He (1:26.83) was also third in the men’s 600 m at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre.

Meckelborg and the RDP Kings Indoor Track team will participate in Running Room Grand Prix #3 on February 28.
