Two central Albertans are facing charges after local Mounteis seized drugs and cash during a traffic stop last week.

On Feb. 4, 2026, Olds RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU), with assistance from the Safer Communities and Neighbourhood (SCAN), Airdrie RCMP and RCMP Police Dog Service (PDS), conducted a traffic stop following an investigation in the Bowden/Olds area.  During the investigation, Olds RCMP seized the following:

  • 45 grams of suspected cocaine
  • 30 grams of suspected methamphetamine
  • A quantity of GHB
  • Canadian currency.

A 62-year-old male resident of Bowden, and a 37-year-old female resident of Olds, have both been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Following Judicial Interim Release Hearings, RCMP say both were released to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Didsbury on Feb. 23, 2026.
