It is with deep love and gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Dolores Cassie Ast, who passed away in Red Deer on February 10, 2026, at the age of 88.
Dolores was predeceased by her beloved husband, Earl, with whom she shared many cherished years. Together, they built a life centered on family and love, including treasured trips to Fairmont Hot Springs when their boys were young. Memories she held close throughout her life. They also travelled many miles in their motorhome, across North America. Earl and Dolores were determined to show their children the world.
Born and raised in Saskatchewan, Dolores carried forward the values of hard work, kindness, and compassion in all she did. She was a proud and devoted member of the Canadian Nurses Association for 60 years, a profession she embraced as a true calling and through which she touched countless lives.
She is lovingly survived by her three sons: Calvin (Heather), Robert (Louise), and David (Katherine); her seven grandchildren; her five great-grandchildren; and her dear sister, Ruth and her family. To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was affectionately known as “GG,” a name that reflected the warmth, love, and special bond she shared with them.
Dolores cherished dogs throughout her life and enjoyed spending time with and cuddling her grand dogs. She will be remembered for her gentle nature, her devotion to family, and the quiet strength with which she lived her life.
