This Week in RDP Athletics  

This week, the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings and Queens Basketball and Volleyball teams will compete against the Medicine Hat College Rattlers. The RDP Queens Hockey team will face-off against the Lakeland College Rustlers and the Kings Hockey team will play the Portage College Voyageurs on the road.  

Here is a summary of the upcoming competition:  

Basketball

Queens at Rattlers | Friday, February 6 | 6 pm  

The seventh-place Queens Basketball team (4-11) will tip-off against the fifth-place Rattlers (6-9) in Medicine Hat. Avery Stypula (Open Studies) has averaged 14.2 points per game for the RDP Queens.  

Queens at Rattlers | Saturday, February 7 | 1 pm  

The Red Deer Polytechnic Queens will face the Rattlers.  

Kings at Rattlers | Friday, February 6 | 8 pm  

The seventh-seed RDP Kings Basketball team (2-13) will play the fifth-place Medicine Hat College Rattlers (6-8) on the road. William Tcherkacine (Bachelor of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies) leads the Kings with 11.5 points per game.  

Kings at Rattlers | Saturday, February 7 | 3 pm  

The Kings will clash with the Rattlers in an afternoon game.  

Hockey

Queens vs. Rustlers | Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre | Friday, February 6 | 5 pm 

The second-place RDP Queens Hockey team (16-6) will host the top-seed Lakeland College Rustlers (19-2). The Queens’ goaltenders (Elizabeth Campbell, Tora Ward and Juliette Gagne-Delaunay) have the best combined save percentage (0.932) in the league.  

Queens at Rustlers | Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre | Saturday, February 7 | 5 pm  

The Red Deer Polytechnic Queens Hockey team will compete against the Rustlers on the road. 

Kings at Voyageurs | Friday, February 6 | 7 pm  

The first-place RDP Kings Hockey team (17-3) will challenge the sixth-seed Portage College Voyageurs (6-12) in Lac La Biche. The Kings have the lowest goals against average (3.20) in ACAC Men’s Hockey.  

Kings at Voyageurs | Saturday, February 7 | 1 pm  

The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Hockey team and Voyageurs will complete their weekend series.  

Volleyball

Queens vs. Rattlers | Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre | Friday, February 6 | 6 pm  

The second-seed Red Deer Polytechnic Queens Volleyball team (12-2) will take on the sixth-place Medicine Hat College Rattlers (2-13) at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre. The RDP Queens rank second in the league, averaging 2.56 service aces per set.  

Queens vs. Rattlers | Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre | Saturday, February 7 | 1 pm  

The Queens Volleyball team and Rattlers will wrap up their two-game set.  

Kings vs. Rattlers | Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre | Friday, February 6 | 8 pm  

The second-place RDP Kings Volleyball squad (12-2) and fifth-place Medicine Hat College Rattlers (5-10) will meet at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre. The Kings have averaged 2.41 blocks per set.  

Kings vs. Rattlers | Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre | Saturday, February 7 | 3 pm  

The Kings will compete against the Rattlers.
