James Preston Kerr

James Preston Kerr of Red Deer AB, passed away at the Red Deer Hospice on January 26, 2026 at the age of 68 years. James was born on June 25, 1957 in Belleville, ON.
The majority of Preston’s working career was in the oil field. When he retired from that, he started his own semi-hauling business operating mainly in the west and across Canada and enjoyed it greatly.
James dealt with health issues due to cancer over the last 13 years and it became advanced the last 4 years.
James will be lovingly remembered by his wife Carol; sons Daniel, Jesse and Alex; numerous grandchildren as well as sisters Jane, Janet, Diane and Deborah; nephews Eric, Tristan, and Brent; niece Stephanie and many friends he made here in the west as well as back home in Ontario. He was predeceased by both parents, Mary Margerite and James Ronald and nephew Peter Carmicheal.
A funeral will be held at a later date back home in Belleville ON. Memorial donations may be directed to the to the Canadian Cancer Society.
