Mrs. Joel Roxane “Jo-El” Hobbs (née Lamoureux) passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the age of 56 years, at the Stettler Hospital and Care Centre. Jo-El was born in Calgary on November 20, 1969, and spent her early years there, where she was raised, educated, and built the foundations of her working life. In 2008, she moved to Delburne with her husband and son, beginning a new chapter centered on family and community. Jo-El later lived in Elnora and Daysland, and worked faithfully as a Health Care Aide, offering comfort and care to others. In May of 2024, she returned to Delburne, where she bravely faced cancer until her passing in January of 2026. Jo-El was a loving and compassionate Christian woman, deeply devoted to her husband and family. She found joy in living a simple life and will be remembered for her kindness, quiet strength, and caring heart. She now walks with the Lord and is at peace, free from her battle with cancer.
Jo-El is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Lionel Francis Hobbs Jr.; five sons, Kaiden James, Brandon, Bird, Kody, and Cody; two daughters, Jessica and Neissa; mother, Donna Inkin; two brothers, Todd and Roland; twelve grandchildren; and many dear friends. Jo-El rejoins her father, James George “Jules” Lamoureux.
There will be no Funeral Service held as per Jo-El’s request. If desired, Memorial Donations in honour of Jo-El may be sent to the Stettler Health Services Foundation at https://www.stettlerhealthfoundation.com/, in recognition of the exceptional care provided by many of Jo-El’s colleagues.
