It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Irene Young on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. Betty was born on July 26, 1957, in Kelowna, British Columbia, to Ross and Dorothy Young. Betty was raised in Lacombe, Alberta, and spent her adult life working in Red Deer, Alberta. Betty was predeceased by her parents and her oldest brother, Bill Young. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Marion Young; her sister, Linda Hopp (Wayne); and her brothers, Ken Young (Barb) and Doug Young (Wendy). As well, she is survived by 10 nieces and nephews and 16 great-nieces and great-nephews. She is also survived by her good friend since elementary school, Joyce Barker (Ford). Betty had a good sense of humour and a ready smile. She loved her family and their large family gatherings. She will be dearly missed. A celebration of Betty’s life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at the Bower-Kin Community Center, 85 Boyce Street, Red Deer, Alberta.
