Scott Thomas Bloomfield, born May 26, 1964 in Burlington, Ontario, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Scott lived a life defined by hard work, generosity, and unwavering dedication to the people he loved. He began his career in the oil patch in 1983, where he worked with determination and resilience for more than two decades. In 2006, Scott and his life partner, Arlyne Baniqued, embarked on a new adventure when they purchased Kings Coat Military Surplus, a business that reflected his deep appreciation for war history and his joy in helping and connecting with others.
A natural outdoorsman, Scott felt most at peace when he was fishing, camping, or simply enjoying the quiet beauty of nature. He was a true tinkerer with a remarkable ability to fix anything he set his mind to. Whether working on a DIY project or lending a hand to someone who needed help, Scott was happiest when building, repairing, or creating something with purpose. Scott was a devoted family man who took tremendous pride in his loved ones.
He is survived by his beloved spouse, Arlyne; five sons: Lee Bloomfield, Dean Bloomfield, Brett Bloomfield, Rick Baniqued, and Dylan Bloomfield as well as his father, Bill Bloomfield; older sister, Kathy Stotesbury, and older brother, Billy Bloomfield.
Scott will be remembered for his warmth, his humour, and his willingness to help anyone in need. His kindness, resourcefulness, and generous spirit touched countless lives, leaving an enduring legacy of love and compassion. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Red Deer Legion #35, 2810 – Bremner Ave., Red Deer AB on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
