Mary Jane Mooney, 85, of Olds, passed away on January 6, 2026, at home in Olds. Mary Jane was born in Chatham, Ontario to Carl and Virginia Elley, the eldest of two siblings. She earned a teaching degree at London Teacher’s College in 1959 and taught for several years until she married Robert Mooney in 1965. She enjoyed golfing, curling, sports, travel, cooking, entertaining, and spending time with friends and family. She was known to be somewhat ruthless when playing games and was a gleeful champion. Mary Jane was pre-deceased by her husband Bob in 2016, and will be missed by daughters Nancy and Jennifer, son-in-law Darren, and her extended family and friends. At Mary Jane’s request there will be no funeral. The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mary Jane’s name to any charity of choice.
