Lacombe’s Daxon Rudolph named WHL Player of the Week
Lacombe’s Daxon Rudolph has been named the Western Hockey League Player of the Week for his exceptional play over the last seven days.
The Prince Albert Raiders defenceman recorded two goals and four assists for six points in three games. The 17-year-old also helped the Raiders to an undefeated record in the trio of games.
He started the week with two points in a 5-2 victory over the Brandon Wheat Kings on Jan. 13, followed by a primary assist on a first-period goal in a 3-1 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes, and a three-point night in an 8-5 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers on Jan. 17. The victory ended the Tigers record-setting 19-game winning streak.
Rudolph, who’s in his second season in the WHL, is among the top prospects for the upcoming 2026 NHL Draft, listed sixth among North American skaters in NHL Central Scouting’s midterm rankings.
