With incredible sadness and sorrow, we announce the passing of Philip Keith Marose, age 69.
Philip was born on June 28, 1956, in Taber, Alberta, and passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, in Penhold, Alberta. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and the heart of his family.
Philip is survived by his loving wife of almost 51 years, Karen, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and memories. He was a proud and devoted father to his two beloved sons and a cherished grandfather to his grandchildren:
- Jeremy (Naomi) Marose and their son Madden
- Jason (Terri) Marose and their children Bohdi and Isabella
Philip will also be deeply missed by numerous other family members, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Phil found peace and joy in the mountains, loved motorcycles, camping, and spending time with his dogs. Above all else, he loved his family more than anything, and his life was defined by his unwavering dedication to them.
Philip worked for the Sinclair family at Sims Furniture for many years, where he was known for his loyalty, strong work ethic, and quiet integrity.
In 2019, Philip was given a second chance at life through the gift of a transplant. The extra years spent with him were deeply treasured and never taken for granted. His family remains forever grateful to the donor and their family, holding deep appreciation for the profound gift given—allowing their joy to exist through another family’s pain.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the University of Alberta Transplant Team, Dr. Fordyce, Dr. Heathcote, the Red Deer Regional Emergency Department, and all others involved in Philip’s compassionate care.
In keeping with Phil’s wishes, there will be no service.
He will be remembered for his love, his quiet strength, and the deep bond he shared with those closest to him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family forever.
