WIEBE, Peter
1949 – 2025
It is with great sadness and many tears that we must announce the passing of our dear and beautiful friend, Peter ‘Pete’ Wiebe. Peter passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2025, with those by his bedside and those close to him. Peter was born on June 3, 1949 in Altona, Manitoba. Peter was predeceased by his beautiful wife, Carol, whom he shared 35 wonderful plus years with and he loved her dearly. Peter ‘Pete’ chose western Canada as his place to live and grow with his wife, after leaving the farm rural at Mather, Manitoba. He spent some time in Calgary, Red Deer and area until he decided to plant his roots firmly in the Bowden area. Pete was well versed in his life and his love for equipment showed. Whether it be from driving truck and hauling meat all over to the western provinces or french fries to northern Manitoba he was always up to the task. Pete then soon started running a successful business of water hauling and feed trucks, alongside his loader business with the county loading gravel trucks. Pete also loved running a dozer whether it was on a pipeline or doing lease reclamations and/or along with lease builds. When he was out with the guys, that was what he truly loved. After he retired, his yard became his biggest concern from perfectly manicured grass, to making sure there wasn’t a weed for miles to pushing/blowing snow with little “Herbie” so there were no drifts to get stuck in. Pete will also be remembered for being a great friend and having a great heart and always wanting to help or for bringing a truck load of goodies from his friends out East. At the end of the day, his biggest love was that of his wife Carol who he so dearly missed. Pete is leaving behind a lifelong group of great friends, along with a large family of brothers, sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. We are truly going to miss you Pete! Love, your friends and family. A Private Graveside Service was held at the Bowden Cemetery. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed at www.heartlandfuneralservices.com. Gone Fishin’
I’ve finished life’s chores assigned to me,
So put me on a boat headed out to sea.
Please send along my fishing pole
For I’ve been invited to the fishin’ hole.
Where every day is a day to fish,
To fill your heart with every wish.
Don’t worry, or feel sad for me,
I’m fishin’ with the Master of the sea.
We will miss each other for awhile,
But you will come and bring your smile.
That won’t be long you will see,
Till we’re together you and me.
To all of those that think of me,
Be happy as I go out to sea.
If others wonder why I’m missin’
Just tell ’em I’ve gone fishin’.
