1954 ~ Clifford “Cliff” Francis ~ 2025 "Cliff was a force of nature—and very much a part of it. He loved canoeing, hiking, camping, and exploring the forests and rivers of the Rocky Mountains throughout Alberta and British Columbia. He found peace on the land and lived in harmony with it."

FRANCIS, Cliff
1954 – 2025
Clifford “Cliff” Francis passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Pigeon Lake, Alberta, on Saturday, December 27, 2025, after living courageously with cancer, which was diagnosed earlier in the year.
Cliff was born on June 22, 1954, in Liverpool, England, and came to Canada at the age of two. He was raised on the east coast in Nova Scotia and, in his late teens, moved west to British Columbia for work. It was in Dawson Creek, BC, where he met his future wife, Faye. Cliff and Faye married and moved to Leduc, Alberta, where they raised their two sons, Jamie and Antony.
In 1981, the family relocated to Red Deer, where Cliff worked in the oilfield industry for several years before discovering his true passion as a machinist. In the early 2000s, Cliff and Faye returned to Dawson Creek to live on the family farm following the passing of Faye’s parents. Cliff loved life on the farm, where he felt at home—surrounded by nature and the mountainous wilderness of northern British Columbia.
Following Faye’s passing in December 2021, Cliff retired and moved to the Summer Village of Grandview in Westerose, Alberta, on Pigeon Lake. There, he formed many meaningful friendships and became a much-loved member of the community.
Cliff was a force of nature—and very much a part of it. He loved canoeing, hiking, camping, and exploring the forests and rivers of the Rocky Mountains throughout Alberta and British Columbia. He found peace on the land and lived in harmony with it.
Cliff was predeceased by his wife, Faye (née Christie); his parents, Constance (née Saville) and Charles Francis; his sister, Corinne Poirier; his stepmother, Margaret Francis; and his step-siblings, Stephen Sullivan, Anne Trus, and Victor Thomson.
He is lovingly remembered by his sons, Jamie (Karrie) and Antony (Saje); his granddaughter, Darrien; his grandsons, Chase and Jordan; his sisters, Patricia Jackson and Lynne Cooper; his brother, Patrick Sullivan; and his faithful Black Lab companion, Nitro, who now lives with Antony.
As per Cliff’s wishes, there will be no service. If desired, and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the SPCA at the following link: www.albertaspca.org/ways-to-help/donate/. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com
