1934 – 2025
Laurence Hardman of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away at Innisfail Hospital on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the age of 91 and a half years. Laurence was born on Monday, June 11, 1934, in Kelfield, Saskatchewan. In his early days, he lived near Biggar, Saskatchewan. He then moved to Lac La Ronge, Saskatchewan, and became a guide and drove taxi. Laurence got his Automotive Mechanic licence and eventually moved to Coronation, Alberta. He worked as the school bus mechanic for the County of Paintearth. He became a Jehovah Witness in June of 1977 and enjoyed being a Bible teacher and serving as an elder in the congregation. Laurence enjoyed playing guitar, singing, and spending time with his friends. He loved to go fishing and working in his garden. Laurence will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Gladys Hardman (nee Rodgers) of Red Deer, Alberta; his son, John Hardman of Plenty, Saskatchewan; his daughters, Moriah Davidson of Fort St. John, British Columbia, Naomi Johnston of Red Deer, Alberta, Mary Charles of Lac La Ronge, Saskatchewan, Sheila Young of Calgary, Alberta, and Laurina of Grande Prairie, Alberta; his brother, Leonard Hardman of Lac La Ronge, Saskatchewan; and by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Laurence is pre-deceased by his parents, John and Edith (nee Arnold) Hardman; his sisters, Florence, Valerie and Caroline; his sons, Doug, Clinton, and Jason; and his daughters, Debbie and Bonnie. A Memorial Service will be held in Laurence’s honor at the Bowers Kingdom Hall, 11 Bennett Street, Red Deer, Alberta, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 2:30 P.M. with Doug Hill officiating. Laurence will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
