With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our cherished son, Micah Gregory Lamothe, who died in Red Deer, AB on December 21, 2025 at the age of 32.
Born in 1993 in Fort Saint John, BC, Micah was an exceptionally hard worker who took immense pride in what he did. As a young man, he dreamt of one day making a living fixing up and flipping old houses. He was always passionate about using his hands and building things and had the patience and skill to be great at whatever he did, whether as a water system technician, painter, or electrician.
Away from work, Micah could be found playing video games with friends, snowboarding in the mountains, or enjoying a game of chess, tennis, golf, or pool with his family. Although he was most comfortable at home, he often surprised people by pushing himself beyond his comfort zone, running a half marathon, walking 600 kilometres across Northern Spain, and spending six demanding days hiking the remote West Coast Trail.
Micah was a kind and compassionate soul who left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He loved his family and was always willing to help those he loved. He will be remembered for his handsome red curly hair, his striking bright blue eyes, and a smile that could light up any room. Micah had a gentle and gracious spirit. He was always ready with a sincere compliment and carried himself with genuine kindness. He was generous with his hugs and his “I love yous,” never holding back affection from those he cared about.
Micah’s time with us was far too short, and his absence leaves an immeasurable void in our family and in the lives of all who knew and loved him. Though we miss him deeply, his warmth, kindness, and unforgettable smile will live on in our hearts forever.
Micah will be lovingly remembered by his mother Lori (Frank) Begg; father Darren (Jennifer) Lamothe; brothers Steven (Angie) and Cason Lamothe; sisters Danielle and Nicole Lamothe; step brothers Dylan Begg, Nick (Jordyn) Begg and Harrison Gardiner; step sisters Karlee (Brent) Begg and Lois Gardiner as well as his grandmother Leona Levins; girlfriend Megan as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Living Stones Church, 2020 – 40 Ave., Red Deer AB on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 1:00 pm.
