Alberta RCMP caution against travel amidst ‘deteriorating’ road conditions

The Alberta RCMP are alerting the public to deteriorating road conditions in both central and southern Alberta following yesterday’s snowfall.

They caution against travel unless it’s necessary.

Police say they are currently responding to several motor vehicle collisions in the province, including semi-trucks in the ditches on the QEII south of Red Deer. They also report some along Highway 36 in the Coronation area.

According to 511 Alberta, as of 9 a.m., highways around Red Deer remain partly covered in ice and snow.
