NORDGREN, Allan
1944 – 2025
On the morning of Wednesday, November 5, 2025, Allan Myron “Al” Nordgren passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 81 years. Al was born on June 16, 1944, in Glaslyn, Saskatchewan, Al was the eldest of five children. He spent much of his career working as an oilfield consultant in central Alberta and was well known for his knowledge, hard work, and reliability. If you ever needed to know the road conditions, Al was the one to call. He raised his family on an acreage near Lacombe, Alberta, where he embraced country living. The acreage became a lively and welcoming place filled with animals, annual corn roasts, get-togethers, and a safe haven for his kids and their friends. Al often said that buying the acreage was one of the best decisions he ever made for his family. Later in life, Al returned to his hometown of Glaslyn to help care for his parents—a reflection of his strong sense of family and responsibility. After their passing, he moved to Red Deer to be closer to his children. Al was only ever a phone call away and always enjoyed chatting with his children and grandchildren. Al will be remembered for his quiet strength, loyalty, kindness and deep love for his family. Al will be lovingly remembered by his children: Dennis (Leah) of Red Deer, Brian of Blackfalds, Randy of Redlands, and Angela (Chris) Litke of Dana Point; as well as his seven cherished grandchildren: Tyren, Aimee, Raelyn, Kyra, Carter, Nathan, and Bennett. He is also survived by his sister, Gloria (Woody) Chewoniak of Medstead; and his brother, Ralph of Saskatoon. Al was predeceased by his parents, Vern and Maymie Nordgren; his brother, Lyle “Sam”; and his sister, Sharon Kaminsky. A Celebration of Al’s Life will be held at a later date.
