The Coronation RCMP have arrested 48-year-old Darcy Falkenberg following what Mounties call an historic sexual assault investigation.

The RCMP, on Jan. 10, 2024, received a complaint about a series of alleged sexual assaults that began in 2008.

With assistance from Consort RCMP and the RCMP K Division Sexual Assault Review Team, further investigation revealed a second victim, but the RCMP believes more victims have not come forward.

As a result, Falkenberg has been charged with two counts of sexual exploitation, two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual interference, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, break and enter with intent to commit assault, uttering threats, and possession of child pornography.

Police say he was brought before a justice of the peace and released on conditions. His next court appearance is set for Dec. 12, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Coronation.

Coronation RCMP believes there are additional victims who have yet to come forth.
