1949 ~ 2025

It is with great sadness that the Chalmers family announces the passing of their dear brother, Douglas, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. Doug was predeceased by his father, John Chalmers, in December 1991. He leaves to mourn his mother, Berneice; brother, John (Lucy); sisters, Arla (Bill), Margo, and Janice. His pride and joy was his niece, Calsea (Lee) the love he shared with her was one of a kind, always laughing and joking with her. They made many wonderful memories together. Doug worked for the Drumheller Auxiliary Hospital for 32 years and loved his job working with seniors. He was an avid outdoor enthusiast—biking, fishing, camping, and skiing were just a few of his favorite pastimes. He travelled to many places, but Hawaii was the place he loved most. His first trip was with DCHS in 1967 to Expo, hopping on a Bluebird bus with all his graduating class in their matching black and gold blazers—a trip that lived on in Doug’s very happy memories. The family would like to thank the Drumheller paramedics and staff of the Drumheller Hospital. Our heartfelt thanks also go to the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre staff—Alyssa, Angele, Lucia, and Rochelle—who were beyond amazing, compassionate, and professional in the ICU.
