DEN ENGELSEN, Clark
1961 – 2025
It is with great sadness that the family of Clark den Engelsen announces his passing on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the age of 64 years at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. Clark was born in Red Deer on March 16, 1961, and spent his childhood there before the family settled in Rimbey in 1972 to begin their farming life. After high school, Clark attended Red Deer College and pursued becoming a Journeyman Welder. Throughout his welding career, spanning over 40 years, Clark worked for numerous welding shops in Red Deer, Blackfalds and Innisfail, most recently at Bohringer (Innisfail). Clark enjoyed the outdoors in his spare time, from hunting, camping, quadding, working on old cars, riding his motorcycles, and spending time with family. Clark will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 29 years, Shaunna; his children, Chantal (Ethan) and Brenden; as well as his sisters, Dorothy (Huibert) Vleeming of Ponoka County, Mary Olson of Rimbey, and Ali (John) Fontana of Leslieville. He will also be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Clark will be especially missed by his loyal companion, his dog, Sadie. Clark was predeceased by his parents, Arie and Grace den Engelsen; and brother-in-law, Gary Olson. A Celebration of Clark’s Life will be held at the Red Deer Legion, 2810 Bremner Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 1:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Clark’s honor may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation at www.heartandstroke.ca.
