LAROSE, Marion
1946 – 2025
It is with deep sadness and many tears that we say goodbye to Marion who died unexpectedly while visiting family in Pickering, Ontario. She went peacefully into the arms of the Angels on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at the age of 79 years. She will be missed by her loving family who are left with precious memories, and she is never far from our thoughts. Marion was born in Rouyn-Noranda Quebec to John and May Gillis on August 20, 1946. Her early years were spent in Kearns, Ontario. She moved to Toronto after high school then back to Virginiatown and then to Kirkland Lake. She spent a long career at Murdoch’s in Kirkland and Barrie retiring in 2009 to winter in Florida. While living in Kirkland, many happy, musical hours were spent at the cottage on Raven Lake. Her dream was always to retire and spend her winters in Florida which she happily did for fifteen years. After retiring, she moved to Alberta to spend the other seasons with her family in Alberta. Marion was predeceased by her parents John and May Gillis, and her grandson Aaron Rennie. She is survived by her son, Robert ‘Robbie’ Rennie; her siblings, Linda Prockiw (Robert), Janet Blais (Rejean), Susan Bolton, Joanne Boruck and John Gillis (Dianna). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ashley, and Blair; and her Great Grandson Emmett. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grandnephews and by her friends at home. She will also be missed by the many friends she had in Florida who will miss her cooking, her sense of humour and her card playing skills. Marion was generous and considerate of anyone in need by cooking meals, baking and being a chauffeur as needed. She loved to travel with her family and visited many places on her bucket list. May memories of her life live long in all our hearts. Marion is probably telling everyone in heaven that she is still “old, tired and cranky”. A Celebration of Marion’s Life will be held at a later date. If desired, Memorial Donations in Marion’s honor may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society at www.cancer.ca or to the Association for the Rehabilitation of the Brain Injured at www.arbi.ca Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com
