Joan Pigeon (nee Henderson) of Red Deer passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the age of 76 years. Joan was born and raised in Vancouver on Wednesday, October 20, 1948. She attended school in Vancouver, graduating from Sir Winston Churchill High School. After high school, she moved to Ladner and began working at Ocean Construction. Following in her sister Susie’s footsteps. Joan moved from the big city to the mountain town of Jasper in 1984. It was there that Joan met her husband, Jasper local, Ross. They would go on to marry and have one son, Timothy. After Timothy’s high school graduation, her and Ross moved to Red Deer to enjoy retirement. Joan will be remembered for her warm smile and laughter. She loved to stop and chat with anyone she knew and catch up with them. Joan loved family get-togethers and being with family was truly her happy place. We love you and will always carry you wherever we go. Joan will be lovingly remembered by her spouse, Ross of Red Deer; her son, Timothy of Calgary; and her sister, Marilyn (Barry) of Campbell River, British Columbia; her niece, Diana Arends of Grande Prairie; and the rest of her family. Joan is predeceased by her parents, Merrill and Kay Henderson; her sister, Susie Arends; and her nephews, Jaime Arends and Scott Campbell.
