It is with deep sadness that the family announces the sudden and unexpected passing of Harvey Allan Smith with his daughter and his oldest grandson by his side, on October 8, 2025, at Red Deer Regional Hospital, due to complications with his health. Born and raised in Kipling, Saskatchewan, Harvey led a life defined by dedication and resilience. He proudly served in the military before spending many years as a long-haul truck driver and later working in Alberta’s oil field. Harvey lived a pretty simple life, spending time with both of his grandsons was his happy place. His dog Ezzy was the center of his life. He enjoyed camping and going for coffee and visiting his friends.

Harvey was a devoted father, loving grandfather, and loyal brother. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Melissa (Rob) Dube, grandchildren, Keiren and Kysen, his brothers, Billy (Brenda) Smith and Lyle (Julie) Smith, and sister Terry (Neil) Harkes. He also leaves behind Melissa and Neil’s mother, Denise Smith. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Jean (Hawkins) and Allan Smith, his brother Bob (Doreen) Smith, and his stepson Neil Johanson.

A service to honor Harvey’s life will be held at a later date in Windthorst, Saskatchewan, where he will be laid to rest among family. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
