Karen Marie Thompson

Karen Marie Thompson of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the age of 59 years following a courageous four-year battle with cancer.
Karen was born on September 8, 1966, in Edmonton, Alberta, and was raised in Caroline, Alberta. As a young girl, she loved spending time outdoors fishing and camping. She later worked for many years as a server in Rocky Mountain House, where she made many lasting friendships.
Karen had a creative and caring spirit. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling, gardening, making chocolates at Christmas and singing karaoke. Karen especially loved to spend time playing and doing crafts with her grandchildren. Karen also cherished her regular phone calls with her sister in Newfoundland, a connection that brought her great joy.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: sons Curtis Thompson and David Crowell, and daughter Jessica Thompson; her five grandchildren; her sisters: Marie Carson (Rick), Kim Dumont-Doyle (Mike), Heather Thompson, Toby Stewart, and mother Jeanette Thompson.
Karen was predeceased by James Thompson (Father), Glenn Davis (Stepfather), and Garry Levinsky (Husband)
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Granary Kitchen, 1935 – 50 Ave., Red Deer, AB on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Friends and family are welcome to join us to share memories and celebrate Karen’s life.
