January 10, 1950 – September 19, 2025
Marge Stephan of Red Deer, passed away on September 19 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 75 with family by her side. Marge was born on January 10, 1950 in Camrose, AB to Thomas and Harda Hendrickson. Marge attended Bawlf School and then Mount Royal College while studying to become a nurse where she met her future husband, Ted.
Following their marriage in 1971, Marge and Ted lived a vibrant life full of adventure. They first moved to Grande Cache where Marge operated her and Ted’s drive-thru restaurant. Following the birth of their son Michael, they moved to Edmonton in 1974 and to Camrose in 1976. While in Camrose, in addition to role as a mother, she also modeled for various clothing store advertisements in the local newspaper.
After the birth of their second son Ryan, the family journey continued, residing at various locations in Central Alberta and settling in Red Deer in 1993. Marge worked as a caregiver at Michener centre in the 1990s, and in the 2000s worked alongside Ted doing bookkeeping and administration with their pipeline inspection company.
Marge was a beautiful, multifaceted woman with a radiance that would fill any room. From a young age she displayed her love of dance and music, surrounded by her father and grandparents playing guitar, fiddle, piano and organ in her family home.
Marge had a special connection to rocks, stones and crystals and she would cut and polish special rocks that she would find on her journeys across BC and Alberta. She loved playing scrabble, learning about different modalities of health and wellness in which she gained a vast knowledge of, and travelling and visiting with her sons and grandchildren on the west coast.
Marge is survived by her son’s Michael (Robin) and Ryan, her grandchildren, Taylor, Keiran and River, her siblings Harvey and Randy and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ted in 2019.
A service will be held on Sat, Oct 4th at 1pm at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 40 Holmes St, Red Deer.
