Willie R. Hildebrandt

March 1, 1927 – September 16, 2025

With love and gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Willie Hildebrandt on September 16, 2025, at the age of 98 years.

Willie was born on March 1, 1927, in Steinfeld, Ukraine, and grew up east of Crossfield, Alberta. His early life on the prairies shaped his strong work ethic, enduring faith, and community involvement. In 1945, he publicly committed his life to Christ through baptism in the Bergthal Mennonite Church, where he remained a dedicated lifetime member.

Willie married the love of his life, Nettie Klassen, on June 18, 1950. Together, they settled east of Carstairs, where they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family. They farmed the land and raised four children.

Willie is lovingly remembered by his wife of 75 years, Nettie; four children and their spouses, his 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He will be missed for his steady presence and unwavering devotion to those he loved.

Willie leaves behind a family and community enriched by his wisdom and care.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025 at Bergthal Mennonite Church at 11:00 a.m.
