It is with profound sadness that the family of Jimmy (Jim) Greydanus announce his death on Sept 17 2025 from esophageal cancer. Jim was born in Swalwell Alberta on September 27 1954 to Cecil & Jessie Greydanus. He lived in Rockyford area until he went to work for the Winklers near Indus. He had many jobs and made many friends over the years. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 49 years Marla, their two daughters Jennifer (Aaron) and Jessica (Darcy) as well as two granddaughters Kealey and Mariah. Jim is also survived by his 6 siblings Wemmy, John, Linda, Irene (Glen), Jane (Cory), Kerry (Sherry) along with numerous nieces and nephews . Jim was predeseased by his father Cecil and his mother Jessie.

 

Services to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family ask that you make a donation to the Cancer Society or the charity of your choosing.

 

The family would also like to thank the staff on Unit 24, the doctors and staff of the Red Deer Cancer Centre, the Palliative Care Team, the EMS personnel who attended Jim, Dr Bryce Laing at the Royal Alex Hospital in Edmonton.
