ROMANCHUK, Madeline
1944 – 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Madeline “Laverne” Romanchuk, who passed away at her home in Red Deer, Alberta, on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the age of 80 years. Laverne was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, on Saturday, September 16, 1944. She lived in Lethbridge until the late 1950s, when her family moved to Rocky Mountain House, before she eventually settled in Red Deer. She worked for many years in the food service industry and even ran her own restaurant in Bentley, Alberta. Her home was always full of family and friends. She loved playing cards and board games and had a deep appreciation for nature. Laverne especially enjoyed spending time in Red Deer’s many parks, often with a backgammon or Scrabble board in hand. She will be remembered fondly and missed forever. Laverne will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Joseph Edward and Richard Mark Antoshchuk, both of Red Deer; her daughters, Tammy Lynn Demas of Powell River, British Columbia, and Valencia Deuchler of Moncton, New Brunswick; her six grandchildren; her brother, Clinton Ernest Livingston of Mexico; and her sisters, Jackie Devereux of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Joy Ann Livingston of Drayton Valley, Alberta, and Wanda Lee Lucas of Red Deer. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com
