1944 ~ Gerald (Gerry) Kish ~ 2025 "The golf cart had to be the best investment (next to their house some would say). The grandkids enjoyed every minute at Gramma and Papa’s place. Although there were still backyard fires, they certainly weren’t the same."

It is with great sadness that the family of Gerald (Gerry) Kish announce his passing August 28, 2025, at Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 80 years young. Gerry leaves behind to mourn his wife of 59 years, Sherri, along with their two sons, Kory and Colin (Verna). Also left behind are his
grandchildren whom he is so proud – Anthony, Kadence, and Keaton as well as brothers Gordon and Irwin, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Waiting to greet Gerry in heaven are his parents Anthony and Margaret, his brother Cliff, his sisters-in-law Mabel and Karen, his parents-in-law Val and Mildred, and his brother-in-law Kelly.
Gerry’s career started managing the Kipling Co-op followed by Gerry’s Mens’ Wear. In 1979, the
family moved to the farm just outside Kipling, Saskatchewan, and dairy life began. After 15 years, he began selling vehicles and at the same time opened a meat shop. During that time, the sons left home and Gerry and Sherri operated the farm until their retirement to Drumheller in 2007.
His family has many fond memories of the farm – the annual cattle drives, bonfires, and sausage-
making. He was a social man and adored social functions with family, friends, neighbors, the church, anything that brought people together. He wanted to know every detail of what everyone was up to and genuinely cared about everyone. Also, if there was a rodeo within 50 miles of where he was, he’d no doubt be there.
After their move to Drumheller, visits with the kids and grandkids became more frequent. The golf
cart had to be the best investment (next to their house some would say). The grandkids enjoyed
every minute at Gramma and Papa’s place. Although there were still backyard fires, they certainly
weren’t the same. After a few summers of selling Taber corn, Gerry decided to take it easy and enjoy full retirement. He enjoyed his many coffee trips with friends and neighbors he made along the way, and they were so very important to him.
