Mr. Gerald Glenn of Markerville, Alberta passed away at the Red Deer Hospice on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the age of 76 years. Gerald enjoyed assisting at brandings by roping calves and teaching others how to rope. He loved trail riding in the mountains with friends and family as well as being a guide for dudes. Gerald was always ready to lend a helping hand and was quick with a smile. In some ways, Gerald could not be trusted. He would prank you just as quick as he would help you. Gerald and a few of his friends participated in ranch rodeos and they often won. He was very proud of the belt buckles they earned. Gerald is lovingly remembered by his spouse, Sharon Leney of Innisfail, Alberta, his two stepsons, Kyle (Crystal) Lafont of Innisfail, Alberta, Philip (Leslie) Johannson of Spruce View, Alberta and his stepdaughter, Kiri (Rasheed) Lafont of Penhold, Alberta. He will also be deeply missed by his four grandchildren and his sister, Judy (Berry) Leachman of Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. Gerald was predeceased by his parents, Lester and Gladys Glenn, and his sisters, Arlene Derksen and Marilyn Hendrickson.
