Sep 3, 2025 | 3:03 PM

A new urologist is now practising in Red Deer, according to Alberta Health Services.

Dr. Uday Mann is providing enhanced urinary system care for residents of Red Deer and surrounding areas out of the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, and the Central Alberta Urology Clinic.

A urologist is a doctor who treats conditions related to the urinary tract and male reproductive system, using both medical and surgical approaches.

Per AHS, Dr. Mann welcomes all urologic consults to his practice, with particular expertise in kidney stones, enlarged prostates and laparoscopic surgery.

Dr. Mann completed medical school at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, followed by a urology residency at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg. He then pursued a fellowship in endourology and laparoscopic surgery at the University of California, San Francisco.

He was raised in Edmonton.

“Returning to Alberta to provide medical care to our home community is both a privilege and an exciting opportunity,” says Dr. Mann.

“I was also drawn to the strong, innovative urology group in Red Deer. It’s an honour to join a team that’s committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.”

AHS notes it continues to recruit physicians across its Central Zone to meet community needs. AHS has physician resource planners who are dedicated to identifying and pursuing international and domestic physician recruitment opportunities, they add.
