Mr. Kurtis ‘Kurt’ Edmund Shaw of Innisfail, Alberta passed on August, 10, 2025 at the age of 33 years. Kurtis was born on May 4, 1992 at Red Deer and grew up in Penhold and Red Deer. After graduating from Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School, he completed two years at the Red Deer College where he met the love of his life, Larissa Chambers, together they attended University in Edmonton for an additional two years, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. Kurt and Larissa married right after University, and then set out on a great adventure, they traveled to the UK where Kurt taught Primary School. Two years later the couple returned to Alberta to be closer to their family. Kurt was teaching at Chinooks Edge School Division until his passing. He loved Magic, The Gathering, canoeing, hiking and was a wizard with random facts and knowledge and loved to share with everyone.
Kurtis will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Larissa Shaw, his father, George Shaw Sr. his mother, Becky Shaw, his older brother George Jr. and younger brother, Erich (Cara) and his much loved nephews, Marcus and Miles, he also leaves to mourn his mother and father in-law, Bryn and Colinda Chambers and his brother in-law, Devin, numerous relatives and many friends. If so desired, Memorial Donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
A Memorial Service for the late Kurtis Shaw was held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #104, 5108 – 49 Avenue #1, Innisfail, Alberta.
