In Loving Memory of Shelley Anne Hager
October 4, 1967 – June 7, 2025
It is with deep sadness and love that we announce the peaceful passing of Shelley Anne Hager on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the age of 57. Shelley passed away at the Red Deer Hospice, with both of her beloved children by her side.
Shelley will be forever remembered by her mother, Pamela, and her father, Murray; her loving sister, Erin; her cherished children, Layne and Jamie; and her dear nephews, Joel, Brayden, and Ryan. She was predeceased by her brother, Jason, whom she missed dearly. Shelley will also be fondly missed by many extended family members and a wide circle of close friends whose lives she touched with her vibrant spirit.
Born and raised on a farm near Provost, Alberta, Shelley was the eldest of three siblings and embraced her role with grace and strength. From an early age, she helped on the farm, nurturing her love for the outdoors and developing the tireless work ethic that would define her life. A true cowgirl at heart, Shelley spent her younger years on the rodeo trail, riding steers and competing in barrel racing and breakaway roping. Her passion for rodeo and western life remained with her always.
Music was a constant companion throughout Shelley’s life. Whether strumming her guitar around a campfire or performing at a local gathering, she had a way of bringing people together with her voice and energy. Her music was her gift to the world.
Shelley lived with a fun-loving spirit and a “Git-R-Done” attitude. She was endlessly curious and fearless in her pursuits—whether working as a hairstylist, landscaping, selling real estate, or launching new ventures. Her entrepreneurial drive and unwavering determination inspired those around her.
Shelley also had a love for travel, exploring destinations across the U.S. and Mexico. She dreamed of relocating to Arizona to embrace the sunshine and begin a new chapter—one more adventure in a life full of them.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 20th, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Shadynook Community Center (28348 Township |Road 380, Red Deer County (camping is available for the weekend).
