Mr. Grant Douglas Fossen passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, with his nephew Craig Larson, stepdaughter Lisa Baalam, granddaughter Brittany Baalam, and dear friend Christine MacKenzie by his side. He is going to join his lovely wife Mona Fossen who passed away exactly two weeks before him. Grant was born and raised in Killam, Alberta. He spent time in the RCAF, and following that, spent many years at Telus as an Electrical Technician. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and bingo, and will be missed by his “bingo girls”. Grant is survived by his stepdaughter Lisa Baalam, stepson Shane Baalam, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his special friends Christine MacKenzie, Sharon Pedersen, and Laura Davey. He is predeceased by his mother Matilda Suzanna Erickson, his father Hjalmer Fossen, and siblings Jane, Irene, Shirley, Mel, Fuzzy, and Alan, and stepson, Shawn Baalam.
There will be no funeral service held per Grant’s wishes, but if desired, memorial donations can be made to Dying with Dignity at www.dyingwithdignity.ca.
