GOODMAN, Darcy
1985 – 2025
Mr. Darcy Ray Kenneth Goodman of Red Deer, Alberta passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at the age of 40 years. Darcy’s life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and adventure. He found immense joy in the simple pleasures—fishing and hunting with family and friends and sharing his musical talent through heartfelt guitar playing and soulful singing. Known for his brilliant sense of humour and creative flair, Darcy had an extraordinary ability to craft songs from everyday moments, with “Little Red Wellhead” standing as a cherished example. The past ten months were a period of genuine happiness for Darcy. He reignited old friendships, reconnected with former colleagues, and celebrated treasured moments with family. His summer journey through Vernon and Vancouver Island, where he revisited childhood homes and embarked on fishing adventures with his father, Wayne, and his best friend, Scott, brought him great joy. Darcy shared an unbreakable bond with his mother, Karen, whose unwavering support and love were constants in his life. While words often went unspoken, Darcy’s gratitude and affection were evident through his kind, humble nature and the warmth he extended to everyone around him. Darcy is lovingly remembered by his devoted parents, Wayne and Karen; his cherished children, Darrien and Tristyn, together with their mother, Emily; his brothers, Dustin (Akemi) and Dylan (Dawn); his adored nephews, Austin, Maddex, and Jack; his maternal grandparents Ken & Joyce Jewitt as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss his presence. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Ray & Sylvia Goodman. Darcy’s radiant smile, infectious laughter, and boundless positivity will be deeply missed. His kindness and heartfelt connections leave an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Forever in our hearts, Darcy’s warmth and light will continue to shine through the lives he touched.
A Celebration of Darcy’s Life will be held in September.
