It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Neil Andrew Johanson on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the age of 50 years. Neil was known for his kind spirit, big heart and adventurous soul. He loved to travel, especially with his wife, Louise. They travelled to Asia, got engaged in Barcelona and were married in Mexico. Neil had a passion for motorbikes and recently discovered his love for dirt biking with his son, Justin. He also found a liking for camping with his family. As well, Neil loved snowboarding and the mountains. He loved a good adventure no matter what it was. Neil spent most of his life working in the oil and gas industry until recently working as a Heavy Equipment Operator at Flint Energy in Fort McMurray. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends by having a drink on his deck. Neil is lovingly remembered by his wife of twenty-two years, Louise, his cat, Oliver, his dogs, Winston and Sabastian, his son, Justin (Elizabeth) and their children, Jayden and Ellie, his mother, Denise and his sister, Melissa (Rob) and their children, Keiren and Kysen. He will also be deeply missed by Mrs. Carol Hayes and family, who took him in, raised him and supported him when he was only a boy and quickly developed into his family.
