Cameron Alexander Moore passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on July 28, 2025 at the age of 21, with his parents by his side. Our family was not expecting for Cameron’s life to be cut so short so soon. We are all devastated by this huge loss and he will be forever missed. He was born with a naturally sweet and pure soul, a big smile for everyone he met, an infectious laugh and was always a joy to be around.
Cameron was born and raised in Red Deer. He spent his school years at Aspire and Parkland School, where he won the hearts of all the staff. Cameron loved going to school everyday. For the past two years Cameron lived in a home with two other adults who he shared an amazing bond with. He had a special relationship with all the staff, and they always cared for him as if he was their own. They will miss him dearly. We could not have gotten through the past two years without these staff, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Cameron was a lover of sunshine, snuggles, cozy blankets, apples, swimming, camping, car rides, music, and The Wiggles. He was full and unconditional love and would show you by holding your hand, looking at you with his big brown eyes and smiling at you. He loved to go for bike rides with the bike we borrowed from the You Can Ride 2 program; this provided both therapy and fun for him. Cameron received a Travel Trailer from Make a Wish, and we enjoyed many camping trips in it that we wouldn’t have been able to do otherwise. These trips will be a memory that we carry with us forever as we continue camping without him. Cameron was always happy being outside in the sun. He loved to lay in the sunshine and soak up its warmth. When Cameron was younger, he loved to be outdoors on the water in a boat. Cameron loved swimming, especially floating in the hot tub. He had an insatiable appetite, he loved his food, we could never have enough apples in the house. For many years Cameron carried around his cozy Wiggles blanket, lovingly called ‘nanny’. He was a special boy, and it was a privilege to know him.
Due to Cameron’s Lennox Gastaut Syndrome (a rare seizure disorder) and Cerebral Palsy, Cameron spent many years in and out of the hospitals, with appointments, surgeries and sickness. He captured the hearts of all the nurses and doctors over the years. We owe many thanks to The Alberta Children’s Hospital, The Red Deer Hospital and Red Deer EMS. We would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at the Red Deer Hospital Unit 32 who cared so much for Cameron during his time there and in his final moments.
Cameron, you were the strongest boy any of us has ever met, a fighter that never gave up even when the odds were stacked against you. You overcame so much that you shouldn’t have had to ever endure in your short time here. Your smiles and laugh will fill our souls with happy memories forever. You had eyes that could tell a story and a smile that lit up the room. We will never forget your big hug’s. Those who were lucky enough to know you, are forever changed. You had the kindest purist soul and were loved by so many. The world will be a little quieter and dimmer without you in it Cameron.
Until we meet again, rest peacefully our sweet boy.
xoxoxo
