FOSSEN, Mona
1946 – 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Mona Merete Fossen, who died on July 23, 2025, at the age of 78, after a prolonged illness. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her husband Grant Fossen, her children Lisa Baalam and Shane Baalam, her grandchildren Brittany Baalam, Jenna Baalam, Cassy Baalam and Matt Baalam, her sisters Jonna Holm and Mary-Ann Holm (Gary Fadden), and her great grandchildren Alex Baalam, Drake Hunter, Camron Tanner, and Mila Smith, as well as her close friends Laura Davey, Chris MacKenzie, Sharon Pedersen, nieces and nephews, and many others. She was pre-deceased by her mother Lizzie Clausen, her father Einar Holm, her son Shawn Baalam, and her brother Ernst Holm. Mona will be missed for her generosity and kindness, her witty sense of humour, and her blunt tell-it-like-it-is personality, which included some colourful language at times. She was truly one of a kind and her loss will be felt by all who knew her for years to come. No funeral service will be held as this was Mona’s wish.
