It is with profound sadness that the family of Art Wiebe, beloved husband of Frieda Wiebe, announces his peaceful passing surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the Red Deer Hospice Society at the age of 82 years. Art was born in Altona, Manitoba on September 4, 1942. He was raised in Altona and started a career in surveying at a young age with the Province of Manitoba. Art was promoted to having his own crew when he was only 19 years old. On June 29,1963 he married his childhood sweetheart, Frieda and along with their two sons, they resided in Altona. From 1966 to 1976, he was employed with the town of Altona, as a Superintendent of public works. After having been employed with Parks Canada, Prince Albert National Park, Kluane National Park and Riding Mountain National Park from 1976 to 1995, he and Frieda retired to Alberta. Along with his wife Frieda, Art will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Tom (Patty) Wiebe, Bob (Wendy) Wiebe, his grandchildren, Kyle (Whitney) Wiebe, Jennifer (Brodie) Jackson and Jessica (Carson) Wiebe.
