Get your Westerner Days Rotary Sunrise 50/50 tickets

Jul 15, 2025 | 4:22 PM

If you’re taking in the sights and sounds of Westerner Days this week, make sure to stop by the Rotary Club of Red Deer Sunrise booth and get your 50/50 ticket.

As recently as two years ago, the jackpot was over $95,000.

David Oxley, Rotary Sunrise member, explains the 50/50’s goal.

“The objective is absolutely to help as many of the charitable groups that we have in town here. So many of the volunteers you’ll see selling tickets are from the different charities we support,” he says.

“That includes Sendero Centre, Ronald McDonald House, Youth HQ, Care for Newcomers, Family Services of Central Alberta, and the Canadian Ski Patrol.”

A past project, for example, was the barrier-free playground at Mattie McCullough Elementary.

“I go over to that project three or four times a year, and the feeling you have as a Rotarian when you see what we’ve built there is fantastic,” Oxley adds.

Sales end at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, the final day of Westerner Days.

Tickets are 100 for $100, 20 for $50, five for $20, and one for $10.

The Rotary Sunrise booth will be located across from the Stockmen’s Pavilion, at the entrance to the food court. Volunteers will also be around the grounds of Westerner Park.

You can also get your tickets now, online!

The draw will be done July 21 at BIG105, 106.7 REWIND, and rdnewsNOW studios.
