Douglas Alfred Weik

Doug was born in Hanna Alberta on June 1, 1960.
Growing up in Hanna and spending most summers with extended family in Penticton was an adventure for the family and created strong bonds.
Doug started his work life young by creating S&F Construction. Doug moved to Brooks to work for Richardson Brothers. A few years later Doug moved to Blackfalds and worked for Canada Packers, followed by Cloverdale Paint Inc. After many years Doug moved to High Performance Coatings (HPC) where he stayed over 20 yrs.
Doug’s quick wit and sense of humor served him well through-out his life, both personally and professionally. Doug’s customers looked forward to seeing his smiling face on a daily basis.
Doug took the opportunity to travel and ventured to destinations including, Hawaii, Florida, Costa Rica, Dominican, Las Vegas, New York and most recently, along with his family he drove to Mexico for a month-long stay.
Friends and family were able to celebrate his 65th birthday with a bbq for him on June 1, 2025. It will be a day to treasure.
After a 21-month battle with cancer he passed away peacefully in Red Deer Hospice, with his family by his side on July 8/25.
Doug was predeceased by his mother Mary (1982), father Alfred (2015), brother Ken Weik (2024) (Donna). He is survived by his sister Audrey Campion (Norm), and brother Rodney Weik (Deneen), his son Christopher Thayer Weik (Lisa) & their daughters Destiny and Cassidy, and his daughter Lindsey Weik.
A family graveside service will be held at a later date in Hanna, Ab.
